Zibibbo Grape Variety

Zibibbo is a grape variety which is also known as Moscata di Alessandria. It has bouquets and flavours of apricots, ginger, orange jam, figs, raisins and even lily of the valley. It is grown almost exclusively in Sicily and is used in the making of Pantelleria DOC. It is considered an ancient vine and experts believe it is one of the oldest unmodified vines in existence. Unusually, it is a wine grape, table grape, and can be used to make raisins.

We visit wineries, restaurants and other highlights to give you the information you need to plan a great trip to Italy. We can design itineraries, advise on bookings and show you the Italy that the tour companies don’t tell you about.
