Prosecco DOCG

Known as the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG, the labelling of these wines can be confusing. It seems there are few hard and fast rules about what the producers can and can’t use. All sparkling wines from this denomination can be called Superiore but the still and frizzante wines cannot. Using the word Superiore is optional as is the word Prosecco. Wines from Conegliano can drop the Valdobbiadene and vice versa. The principal grape used is the Glera grape variety.
