Nero di Troia Grape Variety

The Nero di Troia grape variety, also known as Uva di Troia, is one of the most important grape varieties in Puglia. Due to its characteristic astringency it is blended with other grapes to make wines such as Castel del Monte DOC and the Castel del Monte Nero di Troia Riserva DOCG. It has refined tannins with a bouquet and flavours of red cherries, red currants, tobacco, and black pepper.

We visit wineries, restaurants and other highlights to give you the information you need to plan a great trip to Italy. We can design itineraries, advise on bookings and show you the Italy that the tour companies don’t tell you about.
