Glera Grape Variety

The Glera grape is a fairly neutral variety which is used widely in making Prosecco and in sparkling and frizzante wines. Glera was also know as the Prosecco grape but as the name Prosecco is now protected – due to the wine – the grape can no longer be referred to thus. The Glera grape is cultivated mainly north of Treviso in the Valdobbiadene and Conegliano areas.

We visit wineries, restaurants and other highlights to give you the information you need to plan a great trip to Italy. We can design itineraries, advise on bookings and show you the Italy that the tour companies don’t tell you about.
